Because you are visiting my site, I know you are interested in investing in yourself and that makes me so happy. I think of taking care of myself as the first step in caring for the people I love. When I am at my healthiest and strongest, that is when I can show up big time for my husband, my kids, my friends, and my community. I am so glad you are taking control of your health so you can show up too.
On my 40th birthday, I ran the first of several Spartan Races. I was in decent shape–I was used to running a couple of miles a few times a week and eating fairly healthy. But I learned that I was not prepared for a race that involved strength and conditioning. And I learned that the competitive side of me needed to figure out how to get up the 30-foot rope next time! So, I hired a personal trainer and I got to work.
A year later, I was swinging from the bars like a monkey, climbing to the top of the rope with ease (there is a trick to it), and flipping monster truck tires without hesitation. Working with a trainer gave me confidence that not only allowed me to approach the race without trepidation but granted me permission to see myself in a new light. I saw myself as a strong, capable woman. I felt empowered.
I realized I wanted to help others feel that same empowerment. I continued to train my own body as I learned, studied, and then earned my personal training certificate in October of 2019.
My passion lies in helping others be the very best version of themselves. Through cardio, strength training, stretching, and mindful eating, I can assure you, you will see results. And since exercise is not a one-size-fits all experience, I promise to work with you to uncover the exercise plan that meets your needs and feels do-able to you long-term.
